He’s Kind of Like

He’s kind of like a young man
And kind of like an old one
Young and wise
Old and idealistic
Young and free
Old and realistic
He’s kind of like a friend
Kind of like a teacher
Kind of like a bohemian
Kind of like a preacher
He’s kind of kind
With some checks and balances
With what can be revealed
Yet hidden in some nuances
He turns ill sometimes
Sometimes when ill is easy
And sometimes
When he just wants to leave me
Just like many men
He Might be part a shadow
Hiding frails in dangers
He Might be lover He might be foe

He Might be guise
and he might be a ghost
In the end he is all kinds
He’s kind of like a legend
And kind of like a song
Changing rhythm and meaning
Changing weak to strong
He’s kind of like a young man
And kind of like a gypsy
Kind of like a mans man
The way he’ll fight the odds
Yet how he’ll talk it free
He’s kind of like many things
And many things I like
some kind of scattered
Just a little tempered
Getting through the battered
We are all kind of young
Kind of old
Something new
And something stole
